National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage Rates to Increase from 1st April 2016

From 1st April 2016 the National Living Wage comes into force. This provides that adults aged 25 and above are to be paid at least £7.20 per hour. The additional minimum wage rates are:

 

Aged 21 – 24      £6.70 per hour

Aged 18 – 20      £5.30 p/h

Aged 16 – 17      £3.87 p/h

Apprentices       £3.30 p/h

 

From October 2016 the rates will increase to:

Aged 25+             £7.20 p/h

Aged 21 – 24      £6.95 p/h

Aged 18 – 20      £5.55 p/h

Aged 16 – 17      £4.00 p/h

Apprentices       £3.40 p/h
