Asbestosis with Lung Cancer

Lung cancer kills 35,000 people a year in the UK. If you have lung cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos, demonstrated by showing clinical sings of other asbestos-related problems such as asbestosis or pleural thickening, you may be able to make a claim against an employer.

Evidence would also have to be provided of occupational asbestos exposure.

The number of lung cancer cases currently attributed to asbestos exposure in the UK may be estimated at around 1800 per year.

The latency period for lung cancer associated with asbestos exposure is usually between fifteen and 35 years.
